“It is written in the prophets, they shall all be taught of God.”  Jesus

A dynamic energy force was sent into the abyss of space at the dawn of creation as vibrations. These vibrations never cease, but continue throughout the ages framing all things that constitute and inhabit the universe.   To find more lectures, see here this new review about the metal bike storage shed.

It vibrates within every soul: A sound which cannot be heard by the ear. A light which cannot be seen with the eye. A Word ineffable in any tongue. It’s been called many things: The TAO; the Pearl of Great Price; the Philosopher’s Stone; the Holy Grail. It is self-existent. It has no name, no form, no description. It’s an essence. In Judaism it’s the I AM. In Christianity it’s the Logos. In Buddhism it’s the OM. It has always been the same.

“I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am you may be also.”

There is a place where we are completely at home, totally satisfied, free of worry, safe from harm and truly loved as we are, no matter what our condition. Where is this place? Many a mile to freedom. As souls given free will, we wandered away, like children playing the game of life for so long we forgot it was getting late and time to go home. In our distant memory we faintly remember being there long ago. The Lord said it’s not out there, it’s in here

“Follow Me.” God is trying to reach us, but the signal is jammed by the noise of the outer world and the static of our thoughts. The soul longs to return to this place, its true home. So close and yet so far! This is the journey to consciousness. We have lost our way, looking for something we can’t find because it isn’t there. Everything is made of matter: A vivid projection of All-Mind; the spellbinding manifestation of our collective thoughts and desires, impulses and sense impressions. These are always changing. Who we really are is not our thoughts at all but conscious spirit: Eternal Being- the same as our Creator. It never dies and never changes!

Tat Tvam Asi. (Sanskrit), You are it! (There is really nobody else).

The Lord said, “I and the father are one.” It’s the same thing, his father is your father too. To us he gave his Perfect Name:

I AM. His Name is our name too! We say it every day.

At some point in time, every human being must discover this fact- to find out who you really are. The Pulpit carries a radio message, “the Spirit moved over the waves. “There is a divine purpose behind everyone who comes into this world, no one has been created for nothing. The awakening of the soul is the most essential part of life.

Sat. Truth.” Kirpal Singh was a Satguru: A title given only to an enlightened saint, or Sant with qualities not found in other types of guru. “Sant and Satguru”  first came into existence from the spiritual ideology of Kabir in the 15th century.

God Power, Master Power, Christ Power.

A talk given by Kirpal Singh, Christmas, 1963.

Who was Jesus Christ? God’s He was God in Man. Jesus was the Incarnation of God. What is the difference between Jesus and the Christ? Christ existed long before Jesus. Jesus is the born man who perfectly manifested the Christ in Himself, and Christ is the Divine Nature of this God-Man. Thus Christ, the Human, existed long before His earthly birth.

God-Power appears from time to time at the human pole to guide the child-humanity and give it the Way Back to God. The question is: Who can give us the way back to God? No son of man can do it; God alone give us contact with Him. He has no equal; no brother, no father, no mother; and that God resides in every heart. Do you follow now, how great He was ? He was this God-Power manifest at the human pole, but he always differentiated between the son of man and the God-Father in Him. Other Masters, Guru Nanak and Kabir, expounded this same Truth in their own languages

Because we are not aware of the teachings of the other Masters, we think perhaps that the teaching of Jesus is the only truth. Truth, however, is One. Truth is clothed in Light, the music of all harmonies. All Masters in the past referred to It. The Sikh Scriptures contain the same assertion: “The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”  They said that Word was personified in human form which guided the embodied souls and gave them contact back to God. I have respect for all human poles at which that Christ-Power dwells from time to time.

Do you comprehend ? The Christ-Power or God-Power or Guru-Power is the same, and manifests Itself at the human pole to meet the demands of His children: those who feel hungry for Him, those who feel thirsty for Him. There is food for the hungry and water for the thirsty; demand and supply is the law of nature, and where fire burns, oxygen comes to help. When man has hunger for God in his heart, God manifests Himself at some human pole to guide the child-humanity. “No man knows the Father except through the Son and he to whom the Son reveals Him.”

Jesus said: “Except a man be born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God… The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation… The Kingdom of God is within you.” By observation is meant–ways which are related to the outgoing faculties. God is Spirit and we must pray to God in Spirit alone. God does not reside in temples made by man, but in the God-made temple of the Man-body. Within that Man-body temple, Jesus said: “Because I live, ye shall live also.” He did not refer to the outer son of man, the perceptible body, but to the Inner, which gave Light and was the Way back to God through Love. Jesus clearly says that no man knows the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son reveals Him. That Son is the Light of God Which exists forever. Son-ship continues. The sum of all that I have to convey to you is that Christ lived as the Man-body of Jesus, at whose pole He appeared, and that He resides in every heart. Yet He cannot be realized by mere feelings, by mere emotions, by merely drawing inferences, or by intellectual wrestling to arrive at a conclusion. It is a matter of seeing God – Who He Is. Christ said, “I am the Light of the World.” Can you see this Light? Jesus said, “The Light of the body is the eye: If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of Light.

There were few such Personalities in the past, and even now there are few; but the world is not without Them. All humanity are the children of these Masters. The same God-Power, Christ-Power, has worked ever since the world began and continues for those children who are hungry and seek the Truth. When that hunger and thirst arises in anyone, God Who resides in every heart makes arrangements to bring him to wherever he can be duly contacted with his own Self. Can any son of man do it. No. Only the God manifested in Him has that Power. Such a person is called a Master. The true definition of a Master is given by all Masters as One Who can make audible for you the Music of the Spheres within and Who can remove the veil of darkness you see when you close your eyes, and reveal the Light of God. Such a person is called a Master.

Many others as well spoke the same. Christ lived even before He entered the sinless body of the mother. We have regard for that perpetual Christ-Power which existed before birth and continues after it, and for the Son-ship that is perpetual. That power lies in every heart and is revealed when a human pole at which the Power is manifest, meets us and gives us a contact with God. No son of man can do it except this God-Power is manifest at the human pole. When we meet Them, these human poles are competent to raise our souls from the bondage of mind and the outgoing faculties and to grant us contact within. Thus, we have regard for all human poles which give that Christ-Power Its birth from time to time. We are, then, fortunate that we are gathered here on this blessed Christmas day.

The Masters do not destroy any religion or introduce new ones. When They come, They come for the whole world. They consider all humans alike and want us to unravel this mystery of the Man-body. Great is man. He lives in this body in which God controls him; and within the microcosm of it, exists the macrocosm. We know so much about the outer subjects but, for want of practical people, we know little or nothing about ourselves, the great boon, the great blessing that we have in the form of the Man-body, the Golden Opportunity.

I have had the great pleasure to present to you for your consideration this Christmas Night, truths which I have come to know through experience and by study of comparative religion.

n the beginning man lost contact with his Creator, along with important knowledge. Today we see the baneful effects of this loss of Higher Intelligence: Man cannot rule himself, it is a proven fact! This wisdom wasn’t really lost, but unguarded. Never appreciated for what it is and discarded. “Know ye not ye are gods?” Reminded the Lord. He was referring to this vital missing TRUTH, hidden for æons.

They did eat and their eyes were opened.”
“Behold, the man has become as one of us, to know duality. Now we cannot allow him to live forever.”
This was in Genesis Three, but man was created in Chapter One. He initially had the faculty of sight, so what happened? And why was he cast out from eternity?

Because power and confusion don’t mix well! At first man was given the Single Eye of the Creator: The brilliant Light of Truth and the solvent of lies. So why does it say his eyes were opened? Something changed, his vision. Now the world looked very different! He looked at his mate and said, you are not the same as me and we are separate from our Creator. So now, who should be in control? Man was cut-off from knowledge rather than becoming like God as promised by his lower nature. He already was like God! A deception he would have seen coming had he not leaned on his own understanding. This is why so many people sense their potential but can’t get there: Because they already are there.

“If thine eye be single thy whole body shall be filled with light.” – Jesus

The third eye isn’t really an eye like an eyeball. It doesn’t need “awakening” because it isn’t asleep. It doesn’t need activating because it’s already very active. The term “third eye,” isn’t found in the Bible, but this was the operating knowledge practiced by Christ- who restored sight to many blind folk. Not only visually, but more important spiritually. Even with ears and eyes we are otherwise deaf and sightless. Truth we comprehend not.

I am no expert, but I understand the pineal gland is cone shaped located in the midst of brain below the soft portion of the skull which can be felt in infants. It is the mind’s eye or the sixth sense. Vast amounts of energy and blood flow through it more than any other gland in the human body and helps regulate the function of the pituitary gland.

  • It is an operating frequency, an antenna picking up energy patterns. The brain is a radio: All sensory information is received, integrated and transmitted. The gland is also responsible for secreting two vital brain fluids related to our mental health: Melatonin, and serotonin. This third lens is covered with the dust of ages, muted by our busy thoughts. It points the opposite direction- within. It is our intuition, constantly giving us information we mostly ignore because these are quiet, subtle promptings. We say, “I’ve got a feeling…” or “somethings tells me…” It’s the seat of inspiration, wisdom and empathy. It is you. The intended you, a higher evolved you.

It’s the power of discernment, reading vibrations given off by others. A lie can’t get past it. When we are talking it is silent. When we are silent, then it speaks. It is never wrong and never leads us astray. The All-Seeing Eye is a secret passed down by masters to initiates since antiquity. They were called “Seers.”

The third eye (also called the mind’s eye, or inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept of a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight.

According to the Christian teaching of Father Richard Rohr, the concept of the third eye is a metaphor for non-dual thinking, the way the mystics see. In Rohr’s concept, mystics employ the first eye (sensory input such as light) and the second eye (the eye of reason, meditation, and reflection).

“But they knew not to confuse knowledge or mere information with the transformation of consciousness itself. The mystical gaze builds upon the first two eyes and yet goes further.” Rohr refers to this level of awareness as having the Mind of Christ.

Steve Jobs said he was greatly affected by this book, published in 1971 by Ram Dass. The author’s real name was Richard Alpert, PhD. It’s the story of Alpert’s transformation from straight-laced Harvard psychology professor to a man on a quest for consciousness. What he found resulted in this book, a sort of how-to for the turned-on generation: Western Psychedelic Zen.

At Harvard, Alpert met another clinical psychologist, Timothy Leary, PhD (1920-1996). The two headed up the Harvard Psychedelic Project in the early 1960’s following Leary’s profound experience taking the psilocybin mushroom while vacationing in Mexico. He returned to Boston breathless, saying he just learned more in a few hours than all his years as a psychologist! A pure, pharmaceutical synthetic was ordered from Sandoz Laboratories for the research project. For the time being, the university permitted the clinical program.

{ Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert at Harvard.

Psilocybin was administered to a broad class of subjects, including divinity students, clergymen, artists, writers, intellectuals even inmates at Concord State Prison. Data was carefully collected and analyzed, what the subjects reported experiencing during their “trip.” But there was really no vocabulary at the time to articulate this new frontier of inner science. The experiments were an astonishing breakthrough in consciousness. But then a mishap occurred. Undergraduates requested to participate: A breach of clinical protocol.

The relatively gentle effects of psilocybin were no match for the shattering discovery of LSD, also known as acid. d-lysergic acid diethylamide- 25 is the most powerful chemical known to man: Colorless, odorless, tasteless, so potent it is measured in micro-grams. It is derived from lysergic acid, which is found in the ergot fungus that grows on rye and other grains. Albert Hofmann, a chemist at Sandoz Laboratories, Switzerland, discovered the LSD molecule by accident in 1943. He called it, “my problem child.” It gained widespread interest, but not all of it was positive.

“High Priest,” published in 1968 was Leary’s first book, followed by “The Politics of Ecstasy.” LSD is not a drug in the usual sense, it doesn’t “drug” you. In many subjects it mimics the sought for ecstatic religious experience; the beatific vision described by mystics. In 1963, when  the two men were fired from their posts at Harvard, the scandalous doctors continued their exciting research at Millbrook, in upstate NY. A steady pilgrimage of seekers, even celebrities came to this place to find themselves. What happened here is an amazing story in itself.

From the Greek ψυχή (psyche, soul, mind) and δηλείν (delein, to manifest). Hence, soul-manifesting. Aldous Huxley, (1894-1963) wrote “The Doors of Perception,” his personal account of taking mescaline. (The title was adopted by the rock group “The Doors”). Huxley suggested his own coinage phanerothyme (phaneroein, “visible” plus thymos, “soul”). Thus visible soul. On mescaline, Huxley was driven around Hollywood where he lived. The Mystery of Death and Rebirth.

Dr. Leary discovered that the trip, a duration of anywhere from eight to twelve hours, was identical to that described as the three Bardos in the “Tibetan Book of the Dead.” He even authored his own version of the ancient text, based on the psychedelic experience along with Alpert and Ralph Metzner, PhD., a third part of this scientific Trio at Harvard.

These chemicals can facilitate a spiritual or mystical experience, one which is indistinguishable from similar descriptions found in the sacred scriptures of the great religions and the ancient mystery schools. LSD is clinically valuable by alleviating the fear and anxiety of dying, by providing insight towards the inevitable transition awaiting the terminally ill. The experience can give peace of mind to the patient by realizing that life is a continuum. There is nothing to fear, energy never dies it only changes form.

(“Generating the divine within”). An entheogen is a psychoactive substance used in a religious, shamanic, or spiritual context that may be synthesized or obtained from natural sources. It facilitates an experience aimed at spiritual development. It is now the preferred term to denote the use of psychedelic drugs in a spiritual, mystical context- and to make the distinction from mere recreational use as party drugs. Psychedelic drugs are non-addictive, and there is no evidence to support long term harm on mental health.

In 1968, possession of LSD was made illegal in the United States. Pursuant to the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, LSD is a Schedule I drug. This means it is illegal to manufacture, buy, possess, process, or distribute without a license from the DEA. A Schedule I substance meets the following three criteria: a). It is deemed to have a high potential for abuse; b). It has no legitimate medical use in treatment; c). There is a lack of accepted safety for its use under medical supervision. Not a single one of these criteria matches LSD, or even cannabis- also a Schedule I drug. But alcohol, far more toxic and destructive can be purchased at the corner store. Advocating the use of LSD, and the unfortunate incident at Harvard gained Leary sudden and unexpected notoriety, along with hatred.

Through the Looking Glass.

There is an unseen inner universe, a macrocosm within us. These inner realms are seldom experienced because the outer senses are riveted to the world of matter, a fake prop set of conditioning and belief systems imposed on us since birth. We are never informed of any other existence. The self-preserving ego isolates us from God. Apart from awakening, or becoming aware of our True Self, life is wasted on purely temporal pursuits: Survival, procreation, pleasure and the production and advancement of the hive. We are not encouraged to explore who we really are, but instead to play it safe, believe what you’re told and don’t ask questions. Consciousness expanding drugs, particularly cannabis, threaten the status quo.

Synthesia occurs when we “hear” colors and “see” sounds. What appears to us as a chaotic world of separation is actually the melding of a determined order of events. Whatever happens is the way it happens. Whether or not you are involved it will happen anyway. The controlling ego keeps us dancing like a marionette. If you let go and step out for a bit, you will see the universe as it really is: A precise mechanism. This includes your life. No amount of anxiety makes any difference as to what is going to happen. No coincidences, no accidents, that’s just how it looks from our limited vantage point.

Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out: The High Times Of Dr. Timothy Leary

“Turn on, tune in, drop out.”

Timothy Leary rapidly became the celebrated guru of a younger generation: An unprecedented revolution of mostly white, middle-class youth protesting war and government. He was a pariah to the establishment class which declared war on the psychologist. G. Gordon Liddy, prosecutor at the time for Duchess County, NY, was hiding in the bushes spying on the Millbrook estate. He led a Keystone-cop raid on the mansion hoping to find “evidence.” Nothing of any culpability was found. Liddy went on to gain notoriety as Richard Nixon’s henchman in the Watergate scandal. Timothy Leary was now considered public enemy number one. But he was never without a smile.Image result for Timothy Leary at Millbrook

A single roach found in the ashtray of his car on the American side of the Mexican border sent Leary to prison for a twenty-year sentence! He escaped and fled the country, finding asylum in the safety of Switzerland as a political prisoner in exile. When he reentered the U.S., the fugitive was stopped at customs, arrested and returned to prison. In this black hole of isolation, he received a space- age transmission called “Starseed.” Undeterred, Timothy Leary was just getting started.
“The entire universe is gently, rhythmically, joyously vibrating. Cosmic intercourse. This is a message of hope and interstellar love, irrepressible optimism. Yes, it is true that repressive pessimists now control planetary politics, but this is a larval phase.”

Timothy Leary Sues the Government. Marijuana tax law abolished.

Leary v. United States395 U.S. 6 (1969), is a U.S. Supreme Court case dealing with the constitutionality of the Marijuana Tax Act of 1937Timothy Leary, a professor and activist, was arrested for the possession of marijuana in violation of the Marijuana Tax Act. Leary challenged the act on the ground that the act required self-incrimination, which violated the Fifth Amendment. The unanimous opinion of the court was penned by Justice John Marshall Harlan II and declared the Marijuana Tax Act unconstitutional. Thus, Leary’s conviction was overturned. Congress responded shortly thereafter by replacing the Marijuana Tax Act with the newly written Controlled Substances Act while continuing the prohibition of certain drugs in the United States.

The daughter of popular television personality, Art Linkletter, jumped to her death while tripping, thinking she could fly. Looking for someone to blame, he held Dr. Leary personally responsible and went about publicly condemning him in a vendetta until the day he died. Confusion happens because time and space are non-existent outside of our own world. A safe, initial experience should involve the accompaniment of a trusted guide: Someone familiar with the effects of the chemical as the subject can be vulnerable entering new corridors of  the mind.

He turned to Zen and esoteric Christianity. Like his friend and colleague, author Aldous Huxley, Alan Watts was among this group experimenting with psychedelics. It’s hardly a coincidence that at the same time physicists were working on the secret bomb project aptly named “Trinity,” LSD was discovered by a Swiss chemist. The awsome power of the atom was unleashed internally and externally at the same moment in history: It could be used to create or destroy. A renaissance of interest in psychedelics is currently happening. People are rediscovering the original ideas of these brave pioneers from decades ago, with a new perspective. The chemicals themselves are merely tools, but there’s a catch- you still come down, kicked out of paradise until the next time- no more “enlightened” than the next person. Alan Watts – What if when we die we wake up?

The Unforgivable Sin.

“The Unforgivable Sin.”

W | latin capital letter w | Times New Roman, Regular @ Graphemica

hat does that mean? Is there even such a thing? Bible believers wonder,   “Is it I?  Maybe I did something wrong, something so bad God would not pardon me! There you are, at the pearly gates, but told to wait. There’s a problem, step aside while we look into it. Uh oh! It must be that one.  And  that one too, and the one I hid so well nobody would find it. I should have disposed of  my pornography,  but didn’t have the opportunity.  Does that mean He sees everything we do? I am ruined! Everyone will say, “He was  no good!”

Of course this hypothetic scenario wasn’t serious, just an absurd abstraction of the serious. Whew! So glad to know it wasn’t real. Yes and no, depending on what reality you live in. There is a sin, (or error), which technically speaking cannot be forgiven: It’s stupidity. It’s not adultery, not drinking or smoking dope or looking at porn or any social vices religionists dictate. It’s Stupidity. Because if so,  nobody, not even God can help you.

We are not talking about legitimate mental defect. There’s a difference between those who cannot think, and those who can but won’t. An insult to All Intelligence, a gift thrown away. Sorry, you lost your password. The gates won’t open for fools. How rich or educated or  well-connected you are doesn’t mean a thing. We want smart people here! Intelligent souls. Not necessarily geniuses, just common sense. Able to see the obvious. Someone who cannot be brainwashed, who sees a lie for what it is, and doesn’t live by lying either.

“All liars, the fearful and the unbelieving shall not enter.”

Bodhisattva Vow.

As I develop the awakening mind
I praise the Buddha as they shine
I bow before you as I travel my path
To join your ranks, I make my full time task.

For the sake of all beings I seek
The enlightened mind I know I’ll reap
Respect to Shantideva and all the others
Who brought the dharma for sisters and brothers.

I give thanks for this world as a place to learn
And for this human body I know I’ve earned
And my deepest thanks to all sentient beings
Without them there would be no place to learn what I’m seeing.

There’s nothing here that’s not been said before
But I put it down now so I’ll be sure
To solidify my own views and I’ll be glad if it helps
Anyone else out too.

If others disrespect me or give me flack
I’ll stop and think before I react
Knowing they’re going through insecure stages
I’ll take the opportunity to exercise patience.

I’ll see it as a chance to help the other person
Nip it in the bud before it can worsen
A change for me to be strong and sure
As I think on the Buddhas who have come before.

As I praise and respect the good they’ve done
Knowing only love can conquer in every situation
We need other people in order to create
The circumstances for the learning we’re here to generate.

Situations that bring up our deepest fears
So we can work to release them until they’re cleared
Therefore, it only makes sense
To thank our enemies despite their intent.

The Bodhisattva path is one of power and strength
A strength from within to go the length
Seeing others are as important as myself
I strive for a happiness of mental wealth.

With the interconnection we share as one
Every action we take affects everyone
So in deciding for what a situation calls
There is a path for the good for all.

I try to make every action for the highest good
With the altruistic wish to achieve Buddha-hood
So I pledge here before everyone who’s listening
To try to make my action for the good of all beings.

For the rest of my lifetimes and even beyond
I vow to do my best to do no harm
And in times of doubt I can think on the dharma
And the enlightened ones who’ve graduated Samsara.

Written from right to left, notice the opening line of Genesis contains at the center Aleph/ Tav: The first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. In Greek it’s Image result for alpha omega. od is because He does. His Plan is already and not yet- always moving forward, refining and upgrading to better things, leaving the old behind. Sentimental God is not. His thoughts are far ahead of us, we cannot comprehend. His works are new each day, His goodness coming in surprising ways with things unexpected. He is not detached at all, but broods over the Creation with the temperament of an Artist.

“When will you make an end?” asked the Pontiff. “When I’m finished!”

“The Agony and the Ecstasy,” by Irving Stone is the story of Michelangelo painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel: The enormous fresco of the Bible, a masterpiece. He was reluctant to take the commission, saying he wasn’t a painter but a sculptor. He lay on his back on scaffolding painting into wet plaster before it set. The work was backbreaking and grueling, with a few apprentices to help. Unsatisfied with the initial results, he kept scraping out what he saw as mediocre. Beginning over again, laboring and driven towards perfection- like the Creator Himself.

Give me a Name.

From a burning bush the All-Being spoke to Moses, flustered by the daunting task given him. Ex. 3:1-16. Moses answered, “Who am I that should go to Pharaoh and lead the Children of Israel out of Egypt? They will say, the God of our fathers? What is his name?”

“Know and understand that I am he; before me there was no God, neither shall there be after   me.”   – Isaiah 43:10.

No gender has God. Because I AM is a verb, it is motion- positive, or “male.” God is the Light of Intelligence- Eternal Mind: He is Self-Existent and never ceases to Be. He needs nothing, the entire universe is His House. He is the Source of all things manifest. Being unseen and without manifest, the only way to know about Him was through signs and symbols. His desire is to make Himself known to man, created in His Image. The disclosure of the All-Being happened gradually, through dispensations and chosen vessels. Seeing the suffering of mankind, in due time He sent a reproduction of His Person.

Jaci Velasquez – God So Loved

The Bible is a book basically about one thing: Jesus Christ. Otherwise there is no story to tell, no need for the prophets. In Bible times copies of the scriptures were rare and cherished. The law and prophets were studied by learned rabbis and read orally in synagogues. Following the Babylonian captivity, expectations grew of the coming of a messiah, a great deliverer. The prophets, particularly Isaiah, contained such veiled predictions. But the wait seemed very long, and many are still waiting.

“The man has become as one of us, he knows duality.” Why does God allow evil? Without polarity nothing can be created; a thing must have its opposite to define it. God separated light from darkness, but once man discovered the difference the genie could not be put back in the bottle. We are given a choice: Right from wrong. It only makes sense that if God dwells in each of us, we are both witness and judge of ourselves. Our works follow us and we must learn from our mistakes in the here and now.

Sign Memorials.

A cause to remember God’s covenants with man. These are specifically named as perpetual ordinances. Memorials are eternal and always reappear in the Book of Revelation. The Rainbow is a covenant sign made with Noah after the Flood. (Gen. 9:13-17. Rev. 4:3). When we see one we always stop and take notice. It is truly a marvel.Image result for involution and evolution

Arkhitekton n. (Greek) ἀρχιτέκτων. The word “architect” comes from ἀρχι- “chief” and τέκτων  “builder.” The God of the universe is thought of as an architect, the Chief Builder. The design of the Tabernacle was given to Moses with exact specifications, as if from the Mind of an Engineer. The plan for the Jewish temple and later Gothic cathedrals were designed after this same order from the original archetype. Beginning in Exodus 25:8, we find the elaborate pattern for the tabernacle, “according to all that I show thee.”

The Tables of the Law.

Image result for Movie- The Ten Commandments

The unchanging, eternal statutes written by God in solid rock. cf. Ex. 32:16. Rev. 11:18,19. The public display of the stone tables has become a contentious issue by thinking they represent sectarian religion. These laws were given for a good reason, they are imperative for any civil and well ordered society. We have all witnessed the tragic results of man’s obstinate disregard for these ten simple rules of life.

But the ten commandments grew into 613 obscure rabbinical laws: A heavy load of traditions and man-made ordinances.                                                        Image result for http//thepulpit.us

Only the priests knew what they all were, an unfair advantage over the people- bondage imposed by the ecclesiastical class. So Christ consolidated all the laws into just two, which covered everything:

The Shema. Hear, Oh Israel! The Lord thy God is One Lord. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul and all thy strength. – Deuteronomy 6:4,5. “This is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like unto the first: thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two hang the law and the prophets.” – Mt. 22:37-40.

Have you ever wondered, is there anybody out there who cares and understands?  Indeed there is.

“God, help me.” Sometimes that’s all it takes. Not lofty words. The Lord prayed, “Our father.” We are not separated from God, you are talking to your Higher Self; the heart is the true temple. He listens to our prayers, knows when we hurt and what we need. St. Paul referred to “inner groaning,” and he called God “Abba” or daddy. God understands all about us, after all He created you and I and the care of our soul is His responsibility. There is nothing you can do to win God’s favor. He is Sovereign. Give thanks for everything, especially when you don’t understand why things happen. Gratitude is important, even before the answer comes. It seldom comes the way we expect. Father knows best.

Who is Israel?

Israel (#3478 in Strong’s Concordance*)  He will rule as God. Right towards God. This was the name Jacob was given marking his transformation at Peniel, “where he saw God face to face.”  Genesis 32:27-30. (*There is no racial or ethnic connotation in the original meaning). Christ said a true Israelite  Is-real.  John 1:47.

Abram, a devout Hebrew of Chaldea, was contacted and told to take his wife Sarai, all his household and depart from Babylonia. To disrupt his life, drop everything and travel west. Because Abram never objected, complained or questioned the order, his faith is considered a type of righteousness; the standard set by his obedience. Sarai was barren, but in their old age, they had a son, Isaac. Isaac had a son Jacob. Jacob had twelve sons, and because his name was changed to Israel, these were the heads of the twelve tribes. The eleventh was Joseph, the one his father loved most, provoking jealousy among his brothers.

Joseph is symbolized by wheat. As a child, Joseph had a dream of eleven sheaths of wheat bowing before one: His brothers making obeisance to him. He went looking for them and found them tending sheep, telling them of his vision. They wanted to kill him, but the boy was thrown into a pit instead and left for dead, separated from his brethren. They told their father, Jacob, he was killed, showing him the coat of many colors smeared with animal blood. cf. Gen. 37:1-34. But Joseph was picked up by travelers and sold into slavery in Egypt. There he was tested and tempted, but no fault was found in this extraordinary young man with his exemplary attitude.

His prophetic boyhood dream came true many years later when Joseph rose to the powerful position of governor and deputy over wheat storage. When Canaan was swept by famine, Jacob sent his eleven sons to Egypt to purchase grain. They met with Joseph, unaware of who he was. But Joseph knew exactly who they were, and chose grace and forgiveness over revenge by providing grain without price for his starving family. cf. Gen. 45:3,4.

“It is I, Joseph!” Notice the emotions in the picture above: Joy, fear and remorse. Believing Joseph was dead and gone, he reveals his identity to his eleven brothers, the same ones who betrayed him as a child. With astonishing similarities, the beneficent and generous Joseph is the one Old Testament character most like Christ: Is-real.

The Mandelbrot Set.

set of complex numbers which remains bounded in absolute value; a field first investigated by the French mathematicians Pierre Fatou and Gaston Julia at the beginning of the 20th century. This fractal was first defined and drawn in 1978 by Robert W. Brooks and Peter Matelski as part of a study of Kleinian groups. On 1 March 1980, at IBM‘s Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New YorkBenoit Mandelbrot (1924-2010), first saw a visualization of the set. Mandelbrot set images may be created by testing the complex numbers for each sample point c, into infinity.

Zoom sequence of the Mandelbrot set.

The Mandelbrot set has become popular outside mathematics both for its aesthetic appeal and as an example of a complex structure arising from the application of simple rules. It is one of the best-known examples of mathematical visualization. Treating the real and imaginary parts of  as image coordinates on the complex plane, pixels may then be colored.

Could our universe be fractal?

Benoit Mandelbrot studied the parameter space of quadratic polynomials in an article that appeared in 1980. The mathematical study of the Mandelbrot set really began with work by the mathematicians Adrien Douady and John H. Hubbard, who established many of its fundamental properties and named the set in honor of Mandelbrot.

The mathematicians Heinz-Otto Peitgen and Peter Richter became well known for promoting the set with photographs. The cover article of the August 1985 Scientific American introduced a wide audience to the algorithm for computing the Mandelbrot set with an image. The Mandelbrot set became prominent in the mid-1980’s as a computer graphics demo, when personal computers became powerful enough to plot and display the set in high resolution. There are many programs used to generate the Mandelbrot set and other fractals, some of which are described in fractal-generating software. These programs use a variety of algorithms to determine the color of individual pixels and achieve efficient computation.

The world is a theater, and here we develop our act. Remove the ego, costume and makeup, what is there? We must be more than  just that! The great studio of life  offers us many roles, but we can never seem to catch that one big satisfying break. We are always discontent, looking for better parts to play.

But time passes mercilessly as fresh faces appear on the silver screen and the old performers are forgotten. Stardom comes at a cruel price, it’s never for keeps. It leaves wistful memories of fifteen minutes of applause, and maybe some  tokens of award. The limelight changes to twilight like yesterday’s tabloid news. If luck be a lady, then fame is a fleeting mistress.

The pathos is captured in Billy Wilder’s masterpiece, the 1950 film-noir, “Sunset Boulevard.” The famous director, Cecil B. DeMille wasn’t really waiting for any close-up, it was only the twisted delusion of a fading actress rotting away staring in the mirror. False hopes from her kept man, William Holden who narrates the movie, leave him shot dead. Face down in the swimming pool of the grotesque mansion in Hollywood: City of Light, city of night.

The universe is theater, drama. Each of us has a role to play in that history. There are no extras in this production, everyone counts for screen credit. Everything simply happens the way it happens, and cannot happen otherwise. We are both participants and audience at the same time: Watching ourselves, it’s confusing, no time to think- unable to stop doing whatever it is we do.

The Cameraman sees the doing and the one doing the doing, but is never under the impression that he is the doer. From this place it’s already been arranged, you are a determined being in an ever-unfolding story happening moment to moment. The fact is, you really have no choice but to be here! There’s only one thing you can do: Give up.

By surrendering attachment we find it’s not really our movie at all. No worries about bad breaks in this business. No upstaging or craving for applause. No walk of fame on Hollywood Boulevard. We are individual characters, designed personalities, different facets of God. What more is there? Gloria Swanson’s powerful performance made the point, the glitz and flash is only an illusion, a decaying romantic fantasy.

Related imagectober, 1972. I was nineteen and studying painting in Philadelphia. Eastern mysticism had come from the oriental to the occidental world, and was beginning to attract wide attention among my generation of baby-boomers, born after the end of WWII. We were called “Children of the Bomb.” The art college scene was a fertile place for seekers, and like many others I was searching too. Something was missing from my life, my art was mediocre and I wasn’t satisfied.

I had no interest in Zen or Hinduism. I was raised in Quakerism and my father was Jewish. On a bright autumn morning I was invited by my older brother and a close friend of his to see a famous guru from India making his third and final tour of the west:  Sant Kirpal Singh was appearing at the Warwick Hotel in downtown Philly.Related imageThat morning I was given a book to read: “Be Here Now” by Ram Dass. The gathering was called a satsang. As we entered the ballroom the atmosphere was electric, crowded with hundreds of his devoted followers. We were able to find three seats. Holding my new book, I thought to myself What is a master anyway?  I had absolutely no idea.

He was already seated onstage. There was a microphone too, but I couldn’t make out the words he spoke. I didn’t get any of it. Why all the fuss? He was just an old man with a beard wearing a turban. The strange affair was uneventful, except at one point I thought he was staring at me. When it was over we left the hotel pushing our way through the mob. I thought nothing of it. Gurus and their groupies! Not for me.

The book by Ram Dass was a gift, I couldn’t lay it down. The following afternoon I finished my classes and walked to Penn Center Terminal to catch the train home. Speeding along, I was quietly reading- when I was suddenly jolted with terrific power!  Waves of  light and energy flooded every atom of my being, along with a genuine happiness I never knew existed. I was incredibly glad just to be alive! In an instant my entire attitude about life shifted away from myself to the family of God. I felt great compassion for all beings. I wanted to shake everyone’s hand!

Was this happening to everyone or just me? I looked at the other passengers sitting in the coach, calmly reading the newspaper, chatting, staring out the window at leaves changing color- all seemingly unaffected by the sudden bolt of Power. So where had it come from?  It came from within!  Like a lightning strike, it was the Master.

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted. Bryn Mawr! Shouted the conductor. I jumped up from my seat, gathered my books and raced down the aisle barely getting off in time. In a daze, I watched as the train departed, disappearing into the distance leaving me behind. This was my stop. I was here now.

Image result for Cosmos

What just happened? I wasn’t quite sure. Was this enlightenment? Not even close! The long journey to consciousness had only just begun. I had been shown a little bit of what that’s like,  just a crumb from the master’s table. Oh, what a crumb that was!  For seven days I enjoyed total peace, thoughtful insight and delightful euphoria, during which time I did not sleep at all, but was never tired.

When the bliss subsided I returned to whoever I was before the event, just a bored college student with a weird story nobody was interested in hearing. I knew I had experienced something very powerful, it was burned forever into my mind! But what was I supposed to do with it? My older brother, the one who had taken me to the Warwick that day was waiting in the wings. He had known about this for years and began explaining it to me. The first thing he taught me was this: We are dreaming! Everything, our lives, is created out of thought, our own thoughts. Just like when we sleep at night: We wake up we realize it was all just a vivid dream.

This brief lifetime is only one of many thought forms we inhabit over cosmic time. There is a plan, and it is ultimately about each soul finding its way home. Each experience is only another train stop, lessons to be learned, some of it very difficult. We suffer because we think our pain is real. But when it passes we are always still here. That’s because we are conscious spirit, without form, eternal, infinite and indestructible. No matter how bad, nothing can ever change or harm us permanently!

Image result for New Thought Movement

Everything we say, think or do has an effect on the universe, like dropping a pebble into a pond. These actions and reactions accumulate, forming the pattern which becomes our life story. Over much time these must play out, and by the time they do we have no recollection of the words, thoughts or actions which initially set them in motion. Once this is understood, we begin to live consciously with more awareness, in harmony with the rest of the universe. Learning to treat others with respect and reacting less out of  attachment and selfishness. If I hurt you I hurt me, we are all evolving together as a single being.

“The Masters are not the monopoly of anyone, they come for everyone, not for one group of humanity or another. They give a knowledge which is beyond the senses, which is an ocean of intoxication – a mighty effulgence of bliss. This bliss is within each human being, but has been suppressed by the mind and the senses, and is therefore not enjoyed.”  – Sant Kirpal Singh
